Our Mission
To increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community.

Who We Are
Founded in 1988, NSBE Boston Professionals is the Greater Boston professional chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers. We are a network of engineers, technologists, and STEM professionals dedicated to advancing Black excellence in technical fields and driving positive change in our communities.Our members represent a wide range of industries—from engineering and data science to academia and entrepreneurship. Together, we provide mentorship, professional development, and community engagement opportunities that empower both emerging and established professionals to thrive.

What We Do
We build bridges between students, professionals, and corporate partners through:

Career advancement & networking: Workshops, panels, and corporate partnerships that open doors for professional growth.
Community impact: Service initiatives that strengthen and support our local communities.
STEM outreach: Mentoring and hands-on programs that inspire the next generation of engineers and scientists.
Leadership development: Opportunities to lead within NSBE and the broader STEM ecosystem.

Our Legacy
As one of NSBE’s oldest and most active professional chapters, NSBE Boston has been a cornerstone of the region’s Black technical community for over three decades. We continue to honor NSBE’s national mission—founded at Purdue University in 1975—by creating pathways for Black talent to excel and lead in Boston and beyond.
